The Cambridge eleven brought tlieir trial fixtures at Cambridge to a close yesterday evening with the completion of this match. Messrs. Hale, Sutthery, and Kemp were all unable to play for the University team, and the absence of the two first-named weakened the bowling considerably. The wicket was in good condition and in the three days 841 runs were scored for 37 wickets. Mr. Orford kept wicket for Cambridge for the first time this season, and Mr. Trouncer made a favour able debut in the eleven, showing good cricket in each innings. At the finish the University wanted 164 to win with only three wickets to fall, so that time in all probability saved them from a decisive defeat. M.C.C. & G. First Innings. Second Innings. Mr. C. W.
