Cricket 1887
jUNB a, 1887 CRICKET: A WEEKLY BECOfiD OF THE GAME. 171 HAMPSHIRE v. NORFOLK. Thanks to a great performance of Mr. F. E. Lacey, and the good bowling of Mr. Currie and Young, Hampshire had a hollow victory in this match, played at Southampton on Monday and Tuesday, winning by an innings and 842 runs. Mr. Lacey’s innings of 323 not out—the largest score recorded, we believe, in an inter-county match—only occupied four hours and a half, and included four sixes, two fives, and thirty-seven fours.
