Cricket: A WEEKLY BEOOBD OF THE GAME (1, 8T. ANDREW’ S HILL, LONDON, E.O. THURSDAY, MAY 2 6 t h , 1887. fjafrilitott dtosstp. The abstract and brief chronicle of the time.— Hamlet. I n “ Gossip ” of Dec. 80th, I gave par- ticulars of a picture by Messrs. J. H. Barrable and R. Ponsonby Staples, illus trative of an ideal cricket match at Lord’s, between picked elevens repre sentative respectively of England and Australia. The picture, which is intended to be shown at the Adelaide Exhibition, and at a series of exhibitions under the auspices of Sir Ooutts Lindsay, Bart., in the chief cities of Australia and New Zealand, will, I learn, be on view at the Goupil Gallery, 116, New Bond Street, at the end ofnext week. Messrs. Boussod and Valadon, the proprietors of the gal lery named, have engraved the picture with portraits of the members of the two elevens underneath, and as far as I can hear these engravings will be ready very shortly.
