Very little play was possible on Saturday in this match, begun at Leicester on the previous day. Hail, snow and rain tried their effects on the ground in turn, and as a consequence it became so wet that it was decided to abandon the game early. Only thirteen wickets fell in the two days, and as at the finish Cheshire had made 59 for the loss of three wickets against a total of 158, neither side could claim to have much, if any, the best of the draw. Mr. Bretherton took six of the ten Leicester shire wickets at a cost of 63 runs. L e ic e st e r s h ir e . E. Hill, c Wother- spoon,bBretherton 1 Colver, not out.. ... 12 H. T.
