476 CRICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. HOV. 25, 1886. POONA v. BOMBAY. The twentieth match between Poona and Bombay, played at Poona on August 6 and 7, resulted after a most exciting game in favour of the home team by 49 runs. The twenty- two included many cricketers well known in England, among them Col. Hon. N. G. Lyttel ton—one of the famous brotherhood, Col. G.B. Meares, Capt. Steele, an old Cheltonian, Major Beaver, a well-known Incog., Messrs. F. D. Gaddum, the old Eugbeian and Cantab, A. Clowes, of Sandhurst, and L. Vidal. The success of the Poona Team was in a great measure due to the brilliant batting of their captain, Col. Lyttelton. He was responsible for 112 of the 352 made by his side. Messrs. Gaddum, Clowes and Williams were the most successful bowlers. P o on a . First Innings. Major Fitzherbert, b Gaddum .................... Col. G. Brooke Meares, c Holland, b Gaddum ... A. J.
