This Annual Week at Patteson Court was? brought to a successful conclusion on Saturday, August 14. The best performances during the week was the batting of the brothers Roller, the wicket-keeping of A. R. Cobb, and the bowling of H. O. Whitby, who took twenty-two wickets at an average of 4.7 runs each. His analysis against the Crystal Palace in the first innings was 33.1 overs, 21 maidens, 21 runs, 7 wickets. W. E. Roller’s 71 and G. W. Ricketts’ 45 not out, were the two highest and best innings, the former being very unluckily stumped off the wicket keeper’s pads. The ground was considerablj affected by the rain, and was not a batsman’s wicket at any time. NUTFIELD v. BUTTERFLIES. Played at Patteson Court on August 9 and 10. B utterflies . F irst Innings.
