E. W. Markham, an old Wellington Blue, bowled four overs, in which he took eight wickets for five runs. In the first over he took four wickets in four balls, fifth ball popped just over bails, and sixth bowled another man. He then changed ends, and took two wickets with the first two balls in the next over.
