To AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS. M e s s r s . BOYLE & SCOTT, o f 41 Bourke Street, Melbourne, have been ap pointed agents f o r the supply o f C r ic k e t in the Australian Colonies. Subscrip tions can be forw ard ed to them. The abstract and brief chronicle oi the time.— Hamlet . I t is gratifying to find that the differences which for a time existed in the Colonies between Shaw’ s team and the Australian cricketers who visited England last summer, had been satisfactorily adjusted before the date of the first engagement between the Englishmen and CombinedEleven of Australia at Sydney. As the score of that match will show, Spofforth, (who, it may be added, liad never ex pressed a disinclination to meet the English players), Bannerman, Scott, and Bonnor, all opposed our men in the exciting contest won by the Colonials with only six runs to spare. Murdoch, McDonnell, Blackham, and Giffen, who does not seem to have been asked, were all absent. “ Mid-on,” in the Melbourne Leader, though, states that all the members of the team would be ready to give their services in the return match, to be commenced at Sydney on March 14th, E v e r y o n e will be pleased to hear of the renewal of diplomatic relations between the English and Australian teams, and the sooner the disagree ment is forgotten the better for English as well as Australian cricket. The receipts of the first match against the Combined Team, according to the Leader, amounted to .£1,100, and it is satisfactory to hear that the Australians had agreed to play in the subsequent matches on payment of their bare expenses. It is of in terest in connection with this match to learn that Mr. John Conway, who had acted as agent for the Englishmen, and whose relations with Murdoch and his comrades had never been very friendly, had ceased to represent Shaw and Shrewsbury. It is stated further that Mr. C. W . Beal, well- known in England as the popular manager of the Australian Team of 1882, was acting in his stead. In C r ic k e t of February 26th, I called attention to the valuable help rendered by Mr. A. W . L. Hemming,
