Canterbury had an easy win in this, the first of the three Inter-Provincial matches arranged to take place at Chiist Church, New Zealand. It was played on December 27 and 29, and Canterbury won by nine wickets. D. Ashby on the Canterbury side figured once in the Surrey Eleven some years ago. In the first innings of the winners Cooke took all the nine wickets which fell to the bowlers, the tenth being run out. This has never, we believe, been done be fore in an Inter-Provincial match. Of the twenty-two contests as yet decided, Canter bury has won thirteen, Otago eight, and one has been drawn. Score: — Fir&t Innings. C. Rattray, c A6hby, b W ilding ..................5 F. H.
