VALE OF CLWYD. Played at Denbigh on July 29 and 30. The Incogs have just finished their third annual visit to North Wales, during which, as on previous occasions, they have been the guests of Sydney Platt, Esq., at Bryn-y- Neuadd. Favoured by glorious weather, with good cricket to play, and the most kind and charming host and hostess, nothing was wanting that the most fastidious cricketer could desire. Nor was the element of success lacking. The first match was won by the visitors, after an interesting contest, by four wickets, the second was an easy victory, and the third was drawn. Lindsay secured the highest aggregate score and batting average, but was closely run by Gibson, whose innings in the last match was an excellent perfor mance. Lake and Cobbold bowled well and with untiring energy, and Gibson was an effective change, but on Saturday afternoon tbe want of another bowler was severely felt. Haigh, Dunn, Brownfield, and Chat terton were the principal scorers among them, and Platt twice carried his bat, and fielded excellently throughout. The scores of the three matches are subjoined.
