UNITED STATES. The Gentlemen of Philadelphia who visited England this summer, brought their tour to a close at Philadelphia, on Oct. 7, when they won a three days’ match against a very strong twelve of the United States, with three wickets to spare. Their victory was chiefly due to the good batting of Brewster, Clark and Morgan, and the effec tive bowling of Clark and M’N’utt. In the first innings of United States, Clark took seven wickets for twenty-seven runs. Lane’3 bowling was che chief feature in the play of the losing side. Altogether he took twelve wickets for 106 runs. U nited S tates . First Innings. Second Innings, Bromhead, c Clark, b M’Nutt 1 b Lowry .. .. 1 Morley, c M’Nutt, b Clark .. 18 not out .. ..2 7 J. II.
