408 CEICKET; A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. s e p t. 11, ism. T H E L A W C LU B IN D E V O N SH IR E * Tlie annual tour of the Law Club ter minated on Wednesday last, having com menced on the 25th August. The weather throughout was fine, and the tour, generally, a pleasant one. Out of the five matches the Law Club won two and lost three; that at Seaton, however, was lost by 9 runs only, and the opposing team was certainly the weakest encountered during the tour. The wicket, though, was very dead, whereas those on the other grounds had been just the contrary. Ni. C. Bailey was in fine form throughout, and a word of praise is due to Chester for his steady bowling and great service at a critical period in the Exmouth match. H. P. Thurston’s bad luck stuck to him from beginning to end. The following are the de tails of tbe matches. L A W C L U B v. T O R Q U A Y . P la y e d at T o rq u a y on A u gu st 25 and 26.
