The Lancashire eleven brought their sea son to a close at Manchester on Friday last, when they won their return match against Somersetshire with ten wickets to spare. The home county was only moderately represented, but the game was in their favour throughout, and Somersetshire, who were one short in their first innings, made such a poor show with the bat that the result was never in doubt. The wicket was dead from recent rains and in favour of the bowlers. Indeed tho only interesting feature of the match was Watson’s bowling for Lancashire. He took eleven Somersetshire wickets for 105 runs. S o m e r s e t s h ir e . First Innings. S. 0. Newton, c Pilling, b Barlow..................................2 G. Sainsbury, b Barlow .. 0 J. B.
