The fourteenth annual tour of the Incogs, in the West was brought off this year under most favourable circumstances of weather, and proved fairly successful, the record showing that of the six matches played two were won, two lost, and two drawn, one of these last (at Clifton) being very decidedly in favour of the wanderers. The team, taken all through, was a strong one, but the best bats most unaccountably failed to come off on several occasions. The bowling and fielding was generally good, but the Sidmouth match was probably lost through two easy catches being dropped at a critical time. E. C..Friend’s innings of 151 at Exmouth was the only “ century ” made daring the tour, and was a fine display of clean and vigorous hitting. W. J, Ford, though suffering somewhat from a sprained leg, bowled steadily and effectively through out, and Wilson and Gilbert proved them selves able assistants. The full scores of tbe matches played are subjoined. INCOGNITI v. CLIFTON. Played at Clifton on August 4 and 5. I n c o g n it i. W. J. Ford, c Coker, b M iles..........................37 H. K.
