376 CRICKET; A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME, a u g . 28, ias4. IN C O G N I T i IN N O R T H W A L E S . The second visit of the Incogs to the Prin cipality commenced on Monday, July 28, but the day was unpropitious; the rain descended in torrents and no play took place. The match was against Mi. Platt’s team, of Bryn-y-neuadd, and he had collected a strong lot. On Tuesday afternoon the weather improved slightly and a start was made. The Incogs had an innings, and their oppo nents went in ; but when one over had been bowled, the rain came down again and put an end to the match. On Wednesday the wanderers proceeded to Denbigh to meet the Vale of Clwydd, and, after a pleasant match, were victors by ten wickets. In the first innings of V. of C., Lake took seven wickets for 20 runs. On Friday and Saturday a re turn match with Bryn-y-neuadd was played, and was finally left drawn in an interesting condition, the Incogs having 87 runs to get, and five wickets to fall. Meller’s bowling in the first innings of Bryn-y-neuadd was re markable—nine wickets for 49 runs. Boss and Cobb played well for Incogs, and Gripper saved his side by his plucky, though some what fortunate, innings. During the week the Incogs were the guests of Mr. Sydney Platt, and were received and entertained by him with the most cordial kindness, and the most generous and lavish hospitality.
