First Innings. SOMERSETSHIRE v. LANCASHI RE Lancashire though only weakly repre sented won this match at Taunton easily on Tuesday with eight wickets to spare. Bar- low was playing at the Oval, as was Mr. A. G. Steel, and Crossland’s absence was also noteworthy. Messrs. Newton and Challen played good cricket in Somersetshire's second nnings, but otherwise the batting was only imoderate. Mr. Hornby hit freely each time for Lancashire, and Watson’s bowling, as will be seen, was very effective. E. C. Saunders, runout 1 J. Allen, b Francis .. 0 J. J. Pattisson, b Key 0 G. R.
