Mr. W. \V.,Eead was playing for England against Australia, at Lord’s, but his services were not missed as if proved. The success of the*. Surrey eleven was mainly, due to the good batting of Messr?. Shuter and Roller became partners when the score' was 30 for three wicHets, and they put on exactly'200 runs While theywere together. Mr. Shuter has never hit in more brilliant style. His T25 included three hits for six and sixteen fours. Mr. Longman played ex cellent cricket , for Hampshire in both innings.
