First Innings. 73 for the captain, who played fine cricket for hi 101, they would have faredv.ery badly. When they went in a second time most of the Sussex team scored freely, and every one of the Kent eleven tried their hands with the ball. Jesse Hide played the best cricket for his 112, and Mr. Blackman hit freely, making 109 runs while in with Mr. Wyatt. Kent began their second innings in a minority of 515 runs, and but for another ex cellent display by Lord Harris they would in all probability have been beaten. As it was the game was drawn with Kent still 385 be hind and only three wickets to fall. In all 1,083 runs were totalled for thirty-seven wickets. S u ssex . First Innings. Mr. R. T. The wickets at Brighton this season are in such excellent condition that it was cer tainly not surprising to find some heavy scoring again recorded in the first match of the season between these counties, concluded on Saturday.
