Cricket 1884

ju n e 19, 1884.; CRICKET; A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 223 GENTLEMEN OF PHILADELPHIA v. MAEYLEBONE CLUB. The Gentlemen of Philadelphia made only a poor show at Lord’s on Monday and Tuesday. The Marylebone Club had a strong eleven, but still their victory by an innings and 171 runs was more decisive than was to have been expected. The Philadelphians were without the help of Mr. C. Newhall, but their cricket all round was certainly dis appointing. M.C.C. 61 A. J. Webbe, b Brew s t e r ..........................50 I.D. Walker, c Stoever, b Brewster .. . . 1 9 C. T.
