Five of them failed to score, and Crossland’s bowling showed 55 balls for 14 runs and 7 wickets, an extraordinary analysis. In the follow-on Mr. F. Turner batted well, but Lancashire had far too long a lead on the first innings to give any interest to the game, and Leicestershire were beaten by an innings and 43 runs. Mr. Hornby, who has been doing very little with the bat this season, went in sixth wicket down in this match. He was the chief scorer on the Lancashire side, and Watson and he contribu ted 110 out of 198 made by Lancashire from the bat. Score and analysis :— L a n c a sh ir e .
