The scoring on both sides was low, and thirty wickets fell during the day for 203 runs. Hide took seven wickets in first innings of Mycroft’s side for thirty-three runs, and Shaw four wickets for nineteen runs. Hide, too. was the most successful run getter, with twenty-four. On Monday and Tuesday an eleven of Leices­ ter played 22 Colts of the County with capt. on the ground at Aylestone Road, Leicester. Rain had made the ground very heavy, and the four innings completed only produced an aggregate of 220 runs, or an average of just over three and a half runs to each batsman. The young­ sters won by 63 runs, but the form all round was very moderate. For the eleven, Rylott took 22 wickets for 65, Parnham 20 for 51 runs. : E leven . Second^Innings. SURREY CLUB AND GROUND v. BROAD­ WATER. This annual match was played on Tuesday, on the ground of the Broadwater Club at Godalming. Several members of the Surrey eleven took part in the match, but the wicket was a little dead, and scoring on both sides low. In the first innings of Broadwater, Mills, the Nottingham professional, bowled 29 overs for 22 runs and six wickets. Messrs. Lucas and Cottrell were unchanged throughout the first innings of the Surrey Club, Mr. Robson, the Middlesex amateur, went in first and carried out his bat.
