Haycraft (81,82,83).—A splendid bat and brilliant field at poiut; bowled well at the commencement of the season but latterly fell off; has captained the eleven with great judgment. L. R. Jacobs (83).—A very steady and good b at; scored consistently throughout the season; a fair field. R. J. Hutchinson (82, 83).— At first scarcely showed his real form, but later on batted most brilliantly; fields well and proved himself a most effective bowler. II. R. Dixson (82, 83).— A hard hitting and at times a most fi iccespful bat; a fair change bowler; lazy in the field. F. H. Gossage (81, 82, 83).—A very steady bat; plays in admirable stylo and has greatly improved on his last voar’s form ; has made groat advance in his fielding. H . E. Crump (81, 82, 83).—A very good bat, but was unable to play much this year; maintained his old brilliancy ;n the field. W . A. Harris (83).— A hard hitter though he played but seldom. A good field at point. H. Wade (83).—Very much improved bat; has long-stopped extremely well throughout the season ; can bowl. A. C. Cook (82, 83).—Has improved and will still further improve in his batting, but still wants nerve ; at times j bowled very effectively; a splendid field. A. R. Trimen (83).—A disappointing bat; can field very | well when he likes. T. W . Fripp (83).—A very g jodfast bowler ; a safe field and a most brilliant catch ; an unlucky bat. J.M.
