M.C.C. & G. v, NOTTS. The Nottinghamshire team were decisively beaten on their own ground at Trent Bridge, on Saturday last, by a very moderate eleven repre senting M.C.O, and G. It is difficult to under stand how a county, adjudged to have won the Championship of the year, could have made such a poor show, but the form of the Notting ham men all round, was most disappointing. Their first score of 23 is the lowest total made in an important match during the season, and it is worthy of remark that at one period of the innings, five of the best wickets were down for three, and six for five runs. When they went in a second time, Mills hit freely, but otherwise the batting was again very tame. Shackloek, a professional who had been credited with some good bowling performances in Scotland during the season, made his first appearance in the County eleven. Iu the first innings of M.C.C., he was not on the spot, but in the second, he proved very effective, taking four wickets at a coat of 18 runs. The bowling figures of Rylott and Woof in Notts’ first innings are remarkable. The proceeds of the match were given by the committee of the Notts club for division among the County team. M.C.C. won by 121 runs. M.C.C. First Innings. Second Innings. Mr. W . J. Ford, c Mills, b G. G. Hearne, run ou t.. Attewell, b Flowers F. Hearne, not out Fothergill, c Sherwin, b B 6, 1 b 3 .. .
