This return match, the second fixture of the Scarborough festival, ended on Saturday in a draw, Marylebone wanting 206 to win with ei- ht wicketsto fall. Neither side was well represented, and the absence of Harrison and Hunter, who are Scarborough men, from the County eleven, gave rise to unfavourable comment. Hall, too, was not in the Yorkshire team. The scoring throughout was above the average, and in all 775 runs were got for 32 wickets, Ulyett and Bat*. s hit freely for Yorkshire, and the former scored 75 out of 112 runs during his stay in the first innings. Lockwood again showred fine cricket, and the two left-handers, Peel and Peate, made a useful stand on the first day, adding 88 to the total during their partnership. In the first innings of M.C.C. Messrs. Par-ivicini and Schultz, while they were together, made 118 and Mr. Vernon, at the close, by finehitting scored 32 of the last 40 runs, 16 from one over of Bates. Y orkshire . Owing to heavy rain on Monday, three days proved insufficient to bring the third fixture of the Scarborough Festival to a conclusion, and the match will be continued to-day, presenting the very unusual spectacle of an important con test extended into four days. The sides were in no way representative, but some good cricket was shown. The counties made a long total of 349, and the scoring was so level that ten bats men got double figures, with the highest con 7 tribution, one of 51 by Gunn. TheEngland eleven, thanks chiefly to the steady play of Hall, began fairly well, but the last wickets collnpsed rapidly, and as the total only reached 133, they had to follow on in a minority of 215 runs.
