Bates, Lockwood, and Hunter were not playing fcr the eleven, and the result was a victory for the Gentlemen by thirteen wickets. George Freeman, the cele­ brated fast bowler, who played a few years ago as a professional for Yorkshire,tookniue wickets for the Gentlemen at a cost of thirty-nine runs.
