The Yorkshiremen had to bowl with a wet ball and ground, but the Derbyshire Eleven are to be thoroughly |congratulated on their excellent show, and their cricket all through was very praiseworthy. At one time it looked as if the home team would get rid of their opponents for less than two hundred runs, but a determined stand by Hunter, who carried out his bat for a very useful fifty-one, and Emmett enabled them to reach an aggregate of 299. Derbyshire wanted 220 to save the follow on, and thanks to the good play of Platts, who hit well for his fifty-five, Chatterton, Mr. Docker, and indeed of the eleven generally, they just secured this number. The match was finally drawn with the score as under. Score and analysis Y orkshire . First Innings. Ulyett, c Disney, b Mar low .. ....................34 Hall, b Docker .. . . 7 4 Mr. E.
