Faulkner, c Harris, b Total................... 127 0 The first cricket week at Bickley Park was played last week, and proved a very great sue- cess. The weather was all that the most ardent cricketer could desire, while the wickets and the ground generally were perfect, and reflected the greatest credit on the groundman, S. Apted. The week was opened with the return match against Richmond, and as will be seen by the following score, the home team would most likely have avenged the defeat suffered d uring the Richmond week, had time allowed. M essrs. Hill, Davies, and Bingham did most of the run- getting for Richmond on their first venture, while the home team were chiefly indebted to Messrs. Betts, Blyth, Street, Cooper, and Pattison for their 443 runs. Mr. Baker bowled with great success, on Richmond going in to get the necessary 183 runs to win, and Mr. Barlow’s two catche3 at deep square leg were especially fine. On Wednesday and Thursday a strong team of Incogs journeyed down, bent on avenging the day’s leather-hunting the home team had administered to them last season. In this they were certainly successful, as they kept posses sion of the wickets all day Wednesday until within half an hour of time, and ran up the for midable total of 394 run?. The whole side but one got into double figures, but the chief feature of the innings was Mr. H. Ross’ freely played 126 (his third century within a week). On Thursday, the home team offered a stubborn defence against the Incogniti’s attack, and totalled 269 runs for the loss of 12 wickets, Messrs. Rashleigh, Betts, Street, and B. H. Latter being ths chief contributors. Lord Harris brought down a team of the B. B.’s on the Friday and Saturday, when a most pleasant match ended in a victory for the B.P.C.C. by four wickets, a result greatly dne to the good bowling of Messrs. Avery and G. Hilder. Messrs. Crowther, C. Brewer, and Fulcher batted well for the Brethren on their first innings, Mr Brewer most unfortunately being incapacitated from fur ther play when well set. The home team headed their opponents by 61 runs in the first innings, thanks to the batting of Messrs. Rashleigh, Betts, Street, Pontifex, and Harfcley- Smith. On the second attempt of the B. B.’s, Lord Harris played very fine cricket for 31, when he was well caught at long leg by Mr. Barber. At lunch time six wickets were down for 92 runs, or only 31 runs on, but afterwards, Messrs, Patterson and McAlpine hit with such freedom, that the score rose rapidly, and eventually reached 166. This left the home team 106 to get to win, but it cost them six wickets in obtaining them. The winning hit was made close on 6 o’clock, and brought a most pleasant and enjoyabla week’s cricket to a close. BICKLEY PARK v. RICHMOND. Played at Bickley Park,'on July 2 and 3. B ic k le y P a r k . Second Innings O n June 4 in a match Guy’s Hospital v, St. Mary’s Hospital, R. Thompson for the former took three wickets in three consecutive balls, all e’ean bowled, and repeated this performance in the return match on June 26 between the same clubs, again clean bowling three batsmen in three eonsccutive balls. W e are requested by F. G. to correct a mis print in our last. The cricket picture was of the date of 1743. The first cricket score is dated 1746.” First Innings. F. E.
