Cricket 1883

2 3 4 CRICKET; A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J u n e 12 , u s s . sport,to be governed by recognised rules with are gular administration. In its principal features the game is much the same as when it first secured a local habitation and a name. Changes have taken place of course in many of its details, but fundamentally, cricltet has not altered during the last century. The wicliets have been in creased twice in height during the existence of the Marylebone Club, but the grand old game itself has retained its original shape, and in the main, the cricket of a hundred years ago is the same as the modernised sport of to-day. JFflEv$C0I^E>BOOK. I f payment has not been made for the season's scores in advance, each score , to ensure inser tion, must be accompanied with a postal order fo r One Shilling. Scores must reach us by First Delivery on Tues day morning, or they will have to wait till the following week. Several have reluctantly to be held over till the following week on this account.
