WINCHESTER. The fifty-fourth match between the School s, played at Eton on Thursday and Friday, ended in a very decisive victory for Winchester by 224 runs. The Eton captain won the toss, but acted on the very questionable policy of giving Winchester the innings, and from the first the Wykehamists held the advantage. The Eton bowling, excepting only that of A. C. Richards, was very weak, and in the second innings, the Wykehamists scored freely, F.M. Ingram getting his seventy-seven without a mistake. Swayne, for Winchester, took nine wickets for sixty-six runs. The Eton batting was very disappoint ing, after the good cricket they had been show ing in some of the preliminary matches.
