Heath, despite that he was onee admittedly caught at the wicket, played a fine innings, though somewhat lucky. Hornby gave two chances in his 33, for which he hit exceedingly hard. Key, for Clifton, gave an easy chance when he had scored 9, from a bumpy ball, but after this mistake his innings was a good one ; he went in first wicket and was out last. In Cheltenham’s second innings they lost six wickets for 11 runs, but Hornby and Fergusson hit well and saved them from an insignificant score. Fergusson gave two chances at mid-off. Johnston kept wicket splendidly, taking three catches. Clifton, with 132 to win, began scoring very fast, until at 21 Brain, their captain, was l b w , and Key scored only 1. Bradford and Sandford played perfect cricket, and to their steady play Clifton mainly owes its victory. C h e lte n h a m C o lle g e . First Innings. Second Innings. A.
