A not very powerful team of the Marvlebone Club and Ground succeeded in beating the Notts County eleven at Lord’s on Tuesday. The County had all the best of the first day’s play, Maryle bone being still 63 runs to the Dad with only nine wickets to fall. On Tuesday morning Mr. Graco batted in his best form and out of the 74 runs got during his stay, made no less than 52. Gunn and Mr. Tylecote, whose first appearance it was since his Australian trip, also played good cricket. At 3.30 on Tuesday Notts went in with 137 to win, and three wickets were down for 2-s. Flowers and Barnes hit the score up to 70, and their chances then seemed of the best. Ju^t previously Mr. Grace had handed the ball to Woof, and the young Gloucestershire professional did a remarkable performance. Rylott was credited with the fourth wicket, but the Iasi six batsmen all fell to Woof at a C03fc of fifteen runs, and Nott3 were all out for 95. Their de feat by 41 runs was solely due to the very fine bowling of Woof. The wicket did not play very well, and the wicket-keepers on both sides were very successful. Sherwin caught five batsmen and stumped two; Mr. Tylecote stumped two and caught three. Score and analysis :— M.C.C. and G rou nd . First Inning3. Sccond Innings. Mr. W. G.
