Another good innings by Haden for the Colts was the chief feature of this match, played on Mitcham Green on Saturday. Jackson too bowled well, and his five wickets only cost eleven runs. For Mitcham, Joseph Caffarey and Abraham con tributed seventy-one out of eighty-nine, and James Caffarey and Knight each took five wickets, the former for thirty-two, the latter for twenty-five runs. At first it seemed as if the Colts were only going to make a small total, but Mr. Dutton and Harrison raised the score from 54 to 135 while they were together, and the result after all was a very creditable show, Higgs playing excellent cricket.
