Cricket 1882

288 CRICKET; A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. SEPT. 14, 1882. yards 7 inches. Tlianks, Mr. G. T. Andrews, 40, Spencer-street, for the correction. Homer sometimes nods. A c o r r e s p o n d e n t calls my attention to •what he justly calls two cricket curiosities in matches recently played at Abbot’s Lang ley. The first, to quote his own words, “ happened on ” Friday, and was as follows. “ TlieBev. T. G. Dale, who bowls lobs, bowled W . Hearn with a ball which hit the top of the off stump, and displaced the off b a il; the leg bail was found lodged on the leg stump only, and reversed. In the second match Mr. H. Gilliat, who was absent in the earlier part of the innings o f St. Albans, howled six overs and three Balls (five balls to the over) for six wickets and no runs, taking three wickets in three balls in one over, and two wickets in the last two balls o f the innings.” * H F f l E v S O 0 ^ E v B 0 0 K * > (Con tinned.)
