The Derbyshire eleven secured their Crst victory o f the season by their defeat of Sussex in the return match played at Derby on Friday and Saturday last. Mycroft’s bowling mainly coutributed to the success of the northern eleven, but the wicket helped him materially, and, winning the toss, gave Derbyshire the match, as rain made the ground very difficult while Sussex were in. Mycroft took 12 Sussex wickets at a cost of only 72 runs. Derby shire won by an innings and 54 runs. D e r b y sh ir e . Kev. A. F. Forman, c J. Phillips, b Hide .. .. 3S Mr. B. P.
