After a long career, he announced his retirement from international cricket for Kenya in 2009 but was brought back into the side after some poor results, even though he was then playing professionally in Zimbabwe. He retired for the second time after the 2011 World Cup. Varaiya, Hiren Ashok . rhb. sla. b 9 April 1984, Kenya. FC: 2006-2009/10, 19 matches. List A: 2006-2010/11, 51 odi, 12 od.
