Gubby Under Pressure

The letters 99 Virginia Bruce, Eleanor Powell, Errol Flynn, Herbert Marshall and Kay Johnson who are my favourites. Fred Astaire only came back 2 days before I left but I went up there and bathed and drank cocktails with them on Monday. I had a long talk to Gary Cooper one night. He is very nice but a bit grey and deaf. Others I have met are Dolores Del Rio, Constance Bennett, Michael Bartlett, Leslie Howard, Fred MacMurray, William Powell, Marlene Dietrich, Fred March and many others but I will tell you all about it when I get back. This train shakes too much for me to write with any comfort. The gossip in Hollywood is appalling. Jean Harlow and W.Powell have been living together, but no one gives it more than a fortnight more as they are always fighting. Clark Gable (unattractive) and Carole Lombard are going well and so much more that my head goes round when I think of it all. Give my best love to Dad. See you all soon. Hope Pat is all right.
