Mick Pope, born in Swinton in April 1964 and educated at Swinton C.S., was a member of the ACS Committee from 1994 to 2007 and the Association’s Marketing Manager for five years. He is currently researching 18 th century cricket in Yorkshire and has been author, or co-author of several books relating to Yorkshire cricket, notably biographies of Roy Kilner, Alonzo Drake and Major Booth. Pope has recently discovered the detailed score of the famous Sheffield & Leicester v Nottingham match of 1826, the most important feature of this discovery being that the full bowling analysis is shown. Paul Dyson, who co-authored the Tempus book with Pope, was educated at Wath-on-Dearne Grammar School and Leeds University, where he studied music. He was head of music at Easingwold School. He has published several books on cricket statistics including The Counties and Test Cricket, Benson & Hedges Cup Record Book and A Century of Headingley Tests . He has also provided statistical records for several biographies; like Pope he has written articles for the cricket press. Jerry Lodge is a leading member of the Surrey Statistical Group, based at The Oval. The brother of Derek Lodge, he was born in Sutton in May 1934 and educated at Rutlish School. Retiring as a director of an international insurance brokers, he was Honorary Treasurer of the ACS from 1999 to 2007 and wrote several books in the Association’s ‘Famous Cricketers’ series, included a revised edition of his brother’s book on Jack Hobbs. Among his other works are Surrey C.C.C., A History since 1945, Fifty Finest Matches: Surrey and a book on the Surridge family. 281
