230 The Formation of the Association of Cricket Statisticians winter, in which a similar coverage of cricket overseas was attempted. The magazine really harked back to the magazine Cricket of pre-First World War days. The new publication survived two full years plus the 1978-79 winter, but folded in May 1979. The clock could not be turned back! Unknown to the two founders, a new monthly English cricket magazine was to appear in book shops in June 1979.
