Medium pacer Pradeep Sunderam would become the third man to achieve the feat, and then for good measure go one better. Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, northern India, in 1960, Sunderam made his first-class debut in 1982. His father Gundibail had played for India twice, opening the bowling against New Zealand in 1955/56. He is another bowler whose all-ten probably came as a bit of a surprise. Although he had taken five wickets in an innings three times in his second season, in a 14-match career so far he had taken just 49 wickets at 37 apiece. He never played Test cricket, but after his success against Vidarbhar he might have hoped to be picked to go to England with the
