All Ten: The Ultimate Bowling Feat
239 Eddie Hemmings first time. He did just that. His last match with Nottinghamshire was in 1992, but even then he wasn’t finished. Three more seasons with Sussex saw him still playing in 1995 at the age of 46. Capped by three counties, Hemmings took 1,515 first-class wickets, a total exceeded by only four cricketers who have made their debuts since 1966 (John Emburey, John Lever, Malcolm Marshall and Courtney Walsh). After county cricket he coached, ran a post office and then became groundsman at Caythorpe Cricket Club in Nottinghamshire. Sons James and Tom both played county Second Eleven cricket, whilst niece allrounder Beth Morgan played in seven Test matches and 72 ODIs for England Women.
